Interview With The Rookz

 The Rookz' Facebook Page

'Boom. Pow. Cheeky'.

Three words that aren't often used together to describe a band? But that's how singer and guitarist Jordan Chapell described his Swansea and Llanelli-based group, 'The Rookz'.

At first I didn't understand how these three words could represent a band at all, but after listening to their music, I can almost understand it; their cheeky lyrics and  musical talent definitely create an impact or 'boom', and although I'm not sure where the 'Pow' comes in to it, it must be there somewhere! (Maybe they just really like The Black Eyed Peas?!)

I caught up with Jordan and asked him a few more questions.

How To Market And Maximize Your Music Blog In Five Simple Steps!

http://www.madcontent.com/blog/
Blogging. What is blogging exactly?
A personal online diary documenting your every move?
A collection of all your favourite things all in one space?
Or is it simply a tool to share your knowledge and expertise in a certain field with others?

Truth is, it is all of the above and more. A blog can be written about anything , and I mean ANYTHING. Take this blog, Change Is Good.
This is a blog written by a guy in America, who documents every time he finds some change.
Now, I don't know about you, but reading statistics about how much money this man has accrued over the years from picking up loose change, ($815.78 since 1998 if you were wondering), does not interest me in the slightest, but the point is that a lot of people are clearly interested, and as a result 'Brian' has a very successful blog with a lot of followers and comments.

The moral of Brian's story is that it's not necessarily always about the content, but about how you market your blog, that will make a difference on how well it's received by the public.

I'm definitely not an expert in the field of blogging, or Welsh music for that matter, but I hope that my step-by-step guide will help you to market and maximise your work, and eventually reap the rewards!

Artist of the Week: March 27th

Rachel Rimmer is an eighteen year old singer-songwriter from Swansea, who performs with a maturity much older than her years.

Her newest track, 'The Waves' is a chilling blend of acoustic guitar and angelic vocals, which really captures and showcases her raw talent in just four and a half minutes.

' The Ultimate iPad'

This week saw the UK launch of the new, third generation iPad; Apple's latest offering of technological genius.

Friday 16th March, less than a year after the release of it's predecessor, was the official release date for the iPad 3, and as expected it caused much hype and anticipation around the world.

But will these two eager beavers, pictured here queuing at the London Apple store FIVE DAYS before the release date, be pleased with the latest iPad model, and is this one really any different to the last two models?

Artist of the Week: March 18th

I've decided I need to re-vamp my blog up a bit, and hopefully my new 'Artist of The Week' idea should do just that.

Each week I will be focusing on a different Welsh artist in order to share the gloriousness that musicians in Wales have to offer.

So to kick things off here's this week's artist Isaac Wadsworth

Side Steps & Side Burns

You might have read my review below of The Blims' second album? If not, doesn't matter, this is still relevant!

Now I'm not sure if it's because of the popularity of the post (a girl can dream), or just coincidental timing, but the band have just released a new song!

And at the risk of seeming like a Blims tribute page, I'm going to post the video on here as I think it's something all Welsh rugby fans should see, especially seeing the timing of next week's match.

Let me know what you think.
